Jeff started on the upper door of the second dutch set today.

It doesn't look like the stripper did much, but sanding for just a few minutes made a big difference. Jeff also started in on the two door frames. Between stripper applications, it was over to the utility room to put up more insulation panels and begin framing the exterior walls.
On this 4th of July holiday Monday, Jeff continued working on the doors while Jillena got a jump on painting some of the full panels for the rest of the roof overhangs.

Jillena and Bob got pretty much the entire east wall defuzzed today. Just a few areas to touch up before we can start staining. Jillena was also busy applying the first coat of stain to one of the exterior doors.
Another LHBA member, Tom, drove out to help Jeff cut out the west entry door opening. We've developed a nice little Western NY LHBA "club" in the past year. While Tom and Jeff worked upstairs, Bob was hard at work building a platform to support our new hot water tank.
Tom drove out again today to help Jeff gain a little more ground on the first exterior door opening. By day's end, they had the header log planed to the rough height and the header bolted. The side bucks got cut and set, but not bolted. Jillena was downstairs staining our doors and painting another T-111 panel for the roof overhangs.
Being inside the damp basement, the last coat of stain Jillena had applied to the doors was still tacky, so we set them all outside in the sun. Meanwhile, we were very busy with the log stain, insulation, and lath up on the scaffolding.
Jeff bolted the jamb extensions in place which bring the door opening to the outside edge of the wall. Bob came out again today to finish up the last of the wall prepping and install the pulley system on the top overdangle for lifting mortar buckets. He also hit all the major gaps in the foam board with spray foam from the inside.
