After Jeff and Tom set the guide boards, Jeff took the saw first and started cutting the left side of the opening.

Outside the wall, the saw pokes through one of the larger logs.

Tom took the saw for the right side cut.

The first full log section has been removed.

Seven log sections have been removed, and the threshold log rough-cut level with the subfloor.

Here, Jeff is planing the threshold log with the chainsaw.

Tom and Jeff measure up from the threshold to mark the header log before cutting.

Tom yielded the saw to Jeff to begin making the kerf cuts in the header log.

After a few cuts, Tom took over.

To lessen the effort on cutting upwards, we moved the scaffold tower over to the window so Tom and Jeff could sit and obtain more leverage on the saw.
