This is the beginning of a new project covering the installation of anything considered a "fixture". Since we are nearing the end of the drywall work in the bathroom, Paul and Jeff decided to move our clawfoot tub up from the basement. Since this tub is cast iron and very heavy, they decided to transport it up the stairwell using the triple sheave block and tackle we used to raise the logs. This, together with a plank on the stairs made the lift much easier. Later, they decided to start something new so they got to work on laying the bathroom flooring.

7-22-11

We got our clawfoot tub into the bathroom and set, ready to have the plumbing connected. Jillena also painted the claw feet a chrome silver. Jeff hung the drywall sections around the laundry room doorway.

7-23-11

It took most of the day to get it right, but the plumbing is now connected to the tub. The picture at the left shows the drain and overfill pipes connecting to the floor. The hot and cold PEX lines are sticking up through the floor. By the end of the day, the faucet and shower kit were also installed.

7-25-11

Stephen, Jeff, and Jillena installed the pedestal sink tonight. We now have a fully-functional bathroom!
