EXTERIOR DOOR INSTALLATION
1-28-11

With the right side buck removed, we drilled down through the 1st course log at an angle, to reach the inside of the basement. Then we fed the flex conduit down through.
We were a little concerned about exactly where the hole would pop through. We wanted to miss the joist support, and ended up missing it by a couple of inches!

Just like we did on the front door bucks, we sketched out the location for the conduit channel on the back side of the buck, then carved it out with the circular saw and chisel.
Next, we laid the conduit in the channel.

Bob punching a hole through the mortar where the conduit will feed through for the light fixture.
Cleaning out the hole.

Jeff cutting a little off the top of the lower log in the gap where the conduit needs to lay before turning to head out through the hole in the mortar.
Cutting the conduit to length.

After bolting the buck in place again, we hung the door. Like the front door, this one took a bit of work to get the two sections aligned and closing properly.
Adjustments had to be made by taking the door sections off and shimming the hinges.
