To construct the rail sections, Jeff first started all the screws for the spindles in the top rail. The top and bottom rails are pressure-treated 2x4's. |

Next, he cut all the spindles from pressure-treated 2x2's. |
He then drilled pilot holes in the centers of each end of the spindles, and fastened them to the top rail with the starter screws. |

The bottom rail then got starter screws for the other ends of the spindles. |
Lastly, the bottom rail was fastened to the spindles with the starter screws. |
