The first row of decking was carefully screwed down so the front edge was parallel with the foundation wall.		The first row set the reference for the rest of the rows.
A closeup of the pattern created by the deck boards and the 45-degree spline. Once the first row of the north side is in place, the end of the spline will be cut back to match the outer edges of the two first rows.		The 6x6 posts top out just above the deck surface (on purpose), so the deck boards need to be cut to fit around them. Our log roof support posts will sit on these 6x6's, and not directly on the deck surface.
