Jeff spent his time on the top joint, as the most difficult one to access. Nobody else volunteered. 8-) Tom chose to work directly under Jeff, which was perfect for catching mortar slag on the head that fell from above.
Continuing with what worked well on the east wall, we used only gloved hands to press the mortar into place and a damp sponge to touch it up a few hours later.
     
 
Bob did a great job working in the corners. Here he is at the SW corner.
