He cut 3" and 4" wide strips, which we figured would be perfect for most of the gaps between our logs. We later adjusted that down to about 2-1/2" strips. |

As soon as the stain was dry enough, we started at the very top joint and stuffed pieces of blue board insulation into the gap, then stapled a narrow lath strip in front. |

Many of the insulation pieces were custom cut with a wedge shape so they would fit much tighter. |
