CEILING COMPLETION
4-17-10

Not quite enough headroom for Jeff, but the towers are as low as we can make them.
For each board on this final row, Jeff began by ripping the width down to approximately match the amount of space left up to the ridge pole.

With the ridge pole edge still straight, he drew the rough shape of the pole profile on the surface of the board.
Then he cut the profile out...

...trying for a fairly close matchup with the ridge pole, still needing to cut deeper into the board until the correct width is reached.
After marking the spots along the cut profile that still need to be knocked down, he trims them off and checks the fit again.

Repeating this process eventually yields a good profile matchup and the correct board width that will allow it to fit snuggly for nailing.
Here's Joe and his family.
