Working on the west ledger next to the side entrance.		Working on the section between the two posts that will flank the future side door steps off the porch.
Drilling a hole in the bottom of the first of three log poles for the back deck support. These three poles will sit on rebar pins in 8" tall concrete risers along the edge of the patio.		The first (and shortest) pole is standing in place with lots of cross bracing. Also visible is a flat chainsawed area where we'll bolt an anchoring cleat.
The two 6x6 cleats get thru-bolted with two 1" sticks of threaded rod. It's these cleats that our 2x12 ledgers will bolt to.		The first of the two tall support logs is on its pin and ready to be braced.
The first tall pole is braced to the wall and cross-strapped.		Two of these tall poles will support the deck and the future 2nd floor balcony.
