The concrete truck backed up to the door with only one extension on the chute. We'd be hauling the concrete around the basement in wheelbarrows from here.

Larry chose to start at the northeast corner. Besides having our perimeter styrofoam as a floor height guide along the walls, we nailed 2x4s to the interior poles with their bottom edges at floor height.

Hanson Aggregates was wonderful to work with. Fortunately, it hadn't rained much, so our "back yard" wasn't terribly muddy.

We laid plywood down at the "filling station" but wheeled full barrows right over the pressurized tubing with no problems. That tubing can take a beating.

In the high-traffic area, it was inevitable that a few plastic zip ties would break. Jeff made sure they all got replaced so the tubing remained secure.

After completing much of the front third, we started at the east wall in the chimney area and worked inward.

The second truck arrived right on schedule. Each truck brought a full 10 yards, and we only ordered 20 yards, so we were hoping we were past the half-way point now.

As we worked our way back out of the basement, we were getting near the end of the load in the truck. To prepare for the possibility of running out, we quickly threw together a form to box out the entryway.

We just backed the form out of the house a little at a time as we laid more concrete. We ended up finishing the floor with less than 1/4 yard left over.

After a while, Steve got out onto the floor on his knee boards and started skimming the surface.

Meanwhile, Allison's mom was scrubbing fuzz off the logs outside the northeast corner.
