Making the cut in the first section.
After taking a wedge out of the pole, Matt secures the drop rope around the base of the section.
Matt was able to cut the first two upper sections at about 10 feet long - a generous usable length for many other possible applications. While still connected, we took the first section right down to the basement through the floor joists.
Cutting the wedge to drop the second section.
Cutting down and dropping the third section. This one was much shorter as Matt cut right at the top of the wall.
Making a snap cut in the fourth section.
Making a snap cut in the fifth section.
Now almost back down to the first floor, Matt makes a snap cut in the sixth and final section.
Lowering the sixth section. This was all we needed Matt's skills for. We plan to cut the next section below the floor and lift it up and out, then take the base of the log out through the basement.
Heading up the NE lifting pole.
Untying the first guy rope.
Untying the second guy rope.

After unbolting the upper pulley block from the top of the pole, Matt lowers the block and tackle back down.
Hoisting up his saw.

Lowering the first section down to the basement.
Cutting, dropping and lowering the second section.
Cutting and dropping the shorter third section.
We took the fourth section on this pole a little longer.
A strange, yet exciting view of the east wall with the lifting poles now removed.

A view of the back wall with the two east poles missing. The house looks a little lop-sided now.
