This weekend started out by pumping water from the sump outlet again. |
|
Some of the gaps between logs are large enough to fit a 2x4 through in spots, which is very useful for organizing some of our block & tackle ropes. |
Here Jeff has rigged up the "wind chimes" with 10 pins. That will give him plenty to do before coming down off the wall for a break. |
|
Starting on the back (south) log, with a few pins already in the pass end, the butt end needed a little straightening. As this is the first log for this course, the butt end excess hasn't been cut off yet. |
Looking back down the log at the freshly-pinned pass end. |
|
After completing the south log, Jeff started down the west log. No serious straightening here. He just used the straps and cable come-along to hold the butt end in place while he started pinning. |
Looking down from the west wall at the hose and PVC pipe carrying the pumped water away from the house. |

A closeup of the furrows the water is creating in the mud. |
