This weekend started out by pumping water from the sump outlet again.

Some of the gaps between logs are large enough to fit a 2x4 through in spots, which is very useful for organizing some of our block & tackle ropes.

Here Jeff has rigged up the "wind chimes" with 10 pins. That will give him plenty to do before coming down off the wall for a break.

Starting on the back (south) log, with a few pins already in the pass end, the butt end needed a little straightening. As this is the first log for this course, the butt end excess hasn't been cut off yet.

Looking back down the log at the freshly-pinned pass end.

After completing the south log, Jeff started down the west log. No serious straightening here. He just used the straps and cable come-along to hold the butt end in place while he started pinning.

Looking down from the west wall at the hose and PVC pipe carrying the pumped water away from the house.

A closeup of the furrows the water is creating in the mud.
