That's our friend Dave, getting ready to keep tension on a guy rope just before the pole begins to lift. John slowly pulled back on the block & tackle from over the left wall. This time, we made sure the butt end was firmly braced so it wouldn't kick out.

While John pulled back on the block & tackle with the tractor, Dave and Jeff kept tension on one guy rope while John's friend Dave (yes, two Daves today) kept the other guy rope tight. The idea was to keep the log tight against the front wall as it rose up. It worked!
