A heated rubber-like spray is applied to the concrete wall. This is the actual waterproofing substance. This virtually lasts forever.

The waterproofers started on the west side and worked their way around the house in no time.

Notice the orange line which marks the future grade level - the level the dirt will eventually come up to after all the backfilling is done. The waterproofing only has to come up to grade level.

After letting the spray coating dry for about a half hour, the crew fastens "pimple board" over the waterproofing to prevent it from getting scraped off when we're backfilling.
