PAINTING

Since Stephen loves heavy machinery, we found plastic diamond plating that will give his room an industrial flare, as well as protect the walls. Here, Jeff has already glued and screwed a narrow section to the lower foot of the wall. The upper pieces are full roll-width, unrolled and tacked in place.   These plastic rolls really held a memory to the "curl" in the roll. To get them to lay flat against the wall, we could only tack them on the studs every 16 inches. Between those, Jeff used high-strength construction adhesive and bracing pressure while it dried.

These rolls were very difficult to work with, but the effort paid off. It looked really nice and realistic in the end.   Stephen loved the surprise when he got home and couldn't wait to spend his first night in his "new" room.
