FLOORING
11-11-11

Paul inserting the spline pieces he made into the groove side of our starter row. Jillena followed along and tacked them in place.   Another shot of Paul inserting the splines.

This board is going in the reject pile. We had quite a few pieces that had very large holes or sections completely missing. This was caused by the metal being ripped out of the original beams before they were milled into floor boards.   While Jillena and Paul started laying flooring in the north half of the house, Jeff worked on scribing the boards for the last row against the south wall.

Marking one of the boards before cutting.   Tapping and nailing.

Some of our larger decorative cobwebs.   Bob and Jillena fitting and nailing boards while Paul measures and cuts the next one.

Working with the board with the biggest dog-leg bow meant nailing one end and screwing a scrap into the subfloor to hold it in place while the board was straightened and nailed at the other end.   Finishing off the flooring around the stairwell.

Jeff working on another scribe around a pole.   Transferring the shape of the pole to the floor board.

Cutting another board to length.   Nailing the last of Jeff's scribed boards along the south wall.

The radial arm saw has been moved to the east wall, off to the right of this picture, to clear the final area.   The progress in the bedroom by day's end.
