PLUMBING
6-3-11

A view from the Sky Jack. That's LouElla, Stephen, and Anna down there.
The pilot holes have been drilled through from inside the house and Jeff is getting ready to cut down through the roof with a hole saw. We used an aluminum ladder braced against the Sky Jack to safely climb up the pitch. The upper end is resting on cardboard.

With Jeff inside feeding the vent pipe up through the ceiling and roof cavity, Paul reaches down through the insulation to guide it up.
Holding the pipe up while Jeff primes and glues the bottom end to the coupler down below..

Jeff fit the pipe and coupler together inside so Paul leans on the pipe to apply pressure for a few seconds while the glue sets.
Pre-drilling the holes for the pipe boot.

Heading back up the lift with the pipe boot.
Setting the ladder back on the roof with the cardboard under the top end.

Heading up the ladder.
The ladder was just long enough for Jeff to be able to sit on part of the cardboard and brace his feet against the ladder.

Cutting the boot to fit our 3" vent pipe.
Ready to slide the boot over the pipe.

Sliding the boot down the pipe.
Bending the boot flashing to fit over a rib in the roof panel and screwing it down.

Issac and Nathaniel (Tom and Huck) floating on their homemade bark raft on the nearby pond.
Here's a better look at their raft, without any weight on it.

Gluing a coupler on the second vent stack.
Pushing the coupler down onto the pipe.

Paul sleeping, I mean applying pressure to the coupler while the glue sets.
Back up on the roof with the hole saw for the second stack.
