Because of the height of the header log being difficult to reach, we set up a single-level scaffold tower...
...which proved to work out perfectly as Jeff could make the kerf cuts without any awkward straining or overhead cutting.
     
Once the header log was rough-leveled with the chainsaw (staying away from the pin locations), Jeff chiseled out the areas around the pins to expose them.
Removing just enough wood around the pins so they could be ground down.
 
 
Using an angle grinder on the pins.
Later in the evening, Jillena had a little fire going with all the small wood debris gathered from the ground below that got knocked out of the window opening.
