We got right to work on the sheathing. With Paul coming up from inside the house between the rafters and Dennis on the forklift deck, we quickly finished off the first row.
Jon and Caleb worked at clearing out the basement and tending to a small bonfire to get rid of some old brush and wood scraps.

Bob helps Caleb with a load of wood scraps that had accumulated in the hedgerow.
Without much fire starting material on hand, it was a challenge for Jon to get it going, but he was successful.

Dennis pushes a panel up to Paul.
A little later when our friends, Bob and Bonnie, arrived, we were able to spread out the job duties. Matt operated the forklift, Jeff rode it up with the panel supply, Dennis and Paul handled and nailed the panels on the roof, Bob helped maneuver the panels from the scaffold deck, Bonnie was the ground runner inside the house, and Bob (the other Bob) handled any panel cutting on the ground. We had quite an efficient system in place.

Nobody went up on the forklift or worked on the roof without a safety harness.
It wasn't long before the fire burned right down and needed stoking.

Bonnie passes up supplies to Bob and the guys on the roof.
Jeff stands by as Bob adjusts the safety tethers for Dennis and Paul.

Jon, Caleb, and Jillena hauled out all of the good lumber from the basement.
Five roof jacks and 2" planking served as our safety net for workers and tools, and provided a stepping platform for transferring panels off the forklift.

A look at the progress so far. Two full rows are complete...
...with the higher rows stepped back toward the north end. Notice we've also nailed down 2x4 stringers to improve our footing.

In order to two air nailers at the same time, we used this handy air line splitter that Dennis brought.
Looking up from the inside at the progress so far.

Our safety tethers are nothing more than tow straps wrapped around the rafters in "choker" knots.
At this point, we've got three complete rows. By the end of the day, we only had about 6 panels left to set.
